<p>If a school requires 1 LOR but you give them 2 is that seen as positive or negative?</p>
<p>If the second letter is from someone the college or you would deem significant, like maybe an alumnus of the college or maybe you have known the person for a while and they are really keen on you or there is a special connection, etc. If you’re just going to do two letters of professors you’ve had that will be the typical “he/she is a good student and will succeed at your school” then it really wouldn’t have any impact.</p>
<p>I don’t think it ever hurts (unless, of course, the second letter writer says something negative or not particularly positive about you). At worst, they’ll just ignore it, and only read the first letter you submit.</p>
