Do 7th Semester Grades have to be sent in?

Our semester JUST ended Monday, and not all teachers had their grades in until today, so I will turn my card in tomorrow to get filled out but I doubt it will get their by the 1st, so I was wondeirng if they are needed or just a good thing to get sent in?

7th semester grades are very important actually. They could make the decision alot easier for the Adcoms if you got straight A's. Also, I had mine sent in by my school and it took them a month to get in to West Point. The safe thing to do would be to have them sent 1st class but its your decision.

i'm in the same boat hawks. I'd suggest giving them a call, explaining your situation, and sending your card through the regular mail. They won't throw a fit

Send an email to your Admissions Officer. My son didn't get his grades last year until Mid-February. And his school didn't end until June 23rd so his final year grades didn't arrive at WP until mid-way through Beast. Thankfully he did well.

I am taking more than 4 courses, should I just also send in a transcript?

Yeah I've been calling up there, but as I'm sure you know it is a hassle trying to get somebody sometimes :D

Thanks though, atleast I can sleep a little bit easier tonight.

they recieved mine a few days ago, so im hoping they will be looked at before they make a decision.

I might be mistaken, but I believe the admissions office needs your "transcripts" not your 7th semester "grade card". The transcripts are sent by your school, not by the applicant/Appointee.
Keep up the hard work, you will reap the rewards. :)

Oops! The Air Force Academy needs your official transcripts. WP needs the grey card that came in the application booklet completed by a school official.

If they recieved my 7th semester report card, I'm assuming I dont have to send in that stupid card. And why is there only enough space on that card for like 4 classes???

Taffy, give admissions a call if you are still in doubt. :')

Taffy, it is meant for people on a 4x4 schedule. We have 4 classes, and then about January we drop those and get another 4. Some people do have extra before or after school though.

I have 7 class periods so I just filled out the card with my four best grades in my academic classes and left out a C I got in AP bio, which turns out to be good for me because my CIS page says I sent in my 7th semester transcript.

Armygreen - Please tell me you did NOT omit your AP bio grade because you had a "c". How will this choice to omit a low grade reflect on your character? Admissions will find out at some point because they will require your transcripts after the school year ends. If you read the grey card you sent to WP, the applicant fills in their name. A school "official" is to record your grades. I hope you rethink your actions.

hey- when they make the admissions procedure as ambiguous and confusing as they do, what armygreen did was smart. its cutthroat in this game, and the game is thick.

I stongly disagree! There are plenty of applicants that have a stonger moral character. That is what sets one apart from another. Anyone in Armygreens situation should be not be afraid to provide the admissions office with "official" transcripts. There may be very good reasons as to why a class grade has slipped (illness, death in family,etc...). A cadet (want to be) should have nothing to hide.

I'll get off my soap box now.

i understand what you are saying, but he didn't lie. he just put his best foot forward.

the point of the card is to make sure he isn't getting a C in AP Bio. I think we can agree on that.

Armygreen - You will find out how smart you are by omitting grades once USMA gets your final transcript.

its cutthroat in this game, and the game is thick.

I have to admit the Service Academies are as hard to get in as i originally thought
