Do A+'s count for anything when med schools look at your transcript?

no difference in GPA obviously, but would they count for anything in med school's eyes?

cuz obviously if you have an A+, you're in the top 5% of your class or so, while 25-30% of the class gets some form of an A. that is a huge difference imo.

so does an A+ count for anything? especially in lower division pre-req courses?

unfortunately, i don’t think it does. unless you have identical stats with someone and you happen to have more A+'s. of course A+'s are nice, but i think top schools would prefer you to be a well-rounded applicant, good GPA, good MCAT, involvement in the community, etc. and at top schools, most people already have mostly A’s and probably a few A+'s here and there.

not all classes give A+'s, so it doesn’t seem to be fair to put emphasis on them.

they do for law school, not for medical
