are you just assigned a # or something in the admissions process? or do adcoms really see ur name? because i'm thinking about not marking the race box, but my last name would give it away if they saw it :(.

No, it's just cooincidence that the schools get the same percentage of Asians, blacks, hispanics, whites etc. each year.

Yes, they see your name.

actually, i would think, if u were asian, and you didn't mark the race box, adcoms will STILL know ur race, because there's a language frequently spoken at home box, which u COULD say it is english, but for most of asian am families it wouldn't be true, it would be chinese, etc.

So... if adcomms don't fill your name and your Asian.

All you have to do is don't mark the race box and put Spanish in the language spoken at home... than they would think you're an URM... right?

No because you could easily be Spanish or something.

And yes, adcoms see your name. How else would they identify you?

Really, don't think about AA too much.
