question as above. something my friend asked me, im just wondering. like, do they get to see ur fafsa and css?

Well, if you are going to be applying for financial aid, then yes.

They don't see your parents' finances if they're need blind.

so its not that they see them and simply dont consider them. rather, at need blind schools, they just dont seem them?

Well, need blind schools don't see and don't consider your parents' salary. They see your parents' careers in the common app, but they do not use it as a factor for your decision unless you write an essay about how you've overcome difficult circumstances.

If they are need-blind, no. If they're not need-blind, then yes. How do you tell if they're need-blind? If they are they'll explicitly say it on the fin aid site, if they aren't they won't mention their policy towards need at all.

Ad-coms can deduct a lot of things from a college app--esp if it asks for any info about parents at all!! The key word is deduct and how they interpret that info about parents which is really unnecessary since parents aren't applying to attend college.
