Do Admin Officers see CSS Profile?

I am a mother and have a question - Do the admin officers have access to the css profile, or any other financial aide document. We have supplemental information that I do not want viewed by admission regarind a health issue I've just recently been dx with.
Unfortunatly I have just been dx with breast cancer and had a mastecomy a few weeks ago. I am scheduled to start chemotherapy in Feb. Naturally medical bills are rolling in every day and will continue. I am not working now nor will I for this year. I DO NOT want the colleges my daughter applied to know about my situation. She applied to very competitive ivy and liberal arts school like Brown and amherst, swarthmore. I am afraid that if they find out her mom has a health issue they will think she has 'baggage" and won't concentrate on her studies. I talked with her guidance office at school and they see my point. Any help - thanks

Schools like the ones you mention are swamped with apps. Admissions & financial aid are kept separate at such schools. Any need-blind school will not penalize your D for what is happening; I believe those are all need-blind schools.

Sorry that you are going through this. Others on these boards know more about these schools than I, but I suspect the ones you cite have good support systems in place. That may be helpful for your D. I know my D's small LAC is very responsive & caring when family issues arise. My best to you.

Welcome to CC.

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but I wish you a full and speedy recovery. All the schools you have listed are need blind which means your abilty to pay will not be a factor in the admissions process. Also at all of the schools you mentioned, the admissions and financial aid are handled in separate departments (and sections of the buildings. At some schools they are in different buildings).
