Do all classes on a Community College program plan transfer?

This thread is about program plans at Community Colleges that state a variety of classes that will transfer to your desired college. (In my case UMich). My question is, do all of the classes that the program plan states will transfer, actually transfer? or are you in for a surprise when you arrive at UMich?

My counselors at my CC assure me that every class that UMich sends them for the program plan will transfer.....or sometimes they say "should transfer."

I’m an incoming freshman who has taken like 8 classes at my CC. I literally had to stalk people @ UM in order to talk to an academic advisor who could tell me FOR SURE if they transferred or not (I was not about to waste time and money!) and all of my classes do transfer (I have it in writing, in email). I would suggest to contact UM’s Academic Advising office, explain your situation, and get ahold of an academic advisor who can tell you for sure!

i found the LSA transfer class list at UMich’s website today. and thanks for your help i recentyl came in contact with someone who could help me from UMich.

my only question now is what does departmental credit mean towards area distribution requirements. in my case i have 3 required humanities courses and i completed 3 but 1 of them is departmental credit. what does this mean in accordance to meeting humanities requirements. do i have to take another humanities course when i arrive at UMich?

all of my credits transfer, it is just a matter of where they distribute them. If you disagree you can petition I believe. This is what my academic adviser told me and he is an LSA honors adviser

were any of your credits a science or humanity area distribution? did any of them count as departmental credit? If so, wat did that mean for you meeting your distribution requirements?

Refer to my post in your Linear Algebra thread for what departmental credit is.

I was told at orientation that departmental credit didnt meet the requirement, but I apparently looked like I was going to cry and they overrode it.

i actually just found that pdf today, i was going off of the other MCC transfer guide which was outdated lol. the pdf clears up a lot

regarding the pdf for Macomb Community College that i posted above, can anyone clear up the Composition I and Composition II transfer credit? If i take Composition I i will recieve departmental credit and have to take Eng. 125 when i arrive at UMich? If i take both Comp I and Comp II i will recieve departmental credit and credit for Eng. 125??

You will only receive credit for eng 125 if it is listed as an equivalent course.
