Do all or at least most schools superscore?

It seems that they do but I am only going on what my S. told me. It is important because by doing that it brings his score up almost 80 points. If you know please share.
Thanks.

The vast majority of schools superscores because of ranking. If they do not superscore, they’ll be at disadvantage when submitting SAT average.

Most schools superscore. Admissions offices at your son’s target schools can confirm their policies (they don’t mind being asked.)

let’s maybe make a list of schools known to superscore for everyone’s convenience:

most obviously,

Harvard
-seen it somewhere on these boards.

Yale

Princeton
http://www.princeton.edu/admission/applyingforadmission/faq/standardized_tests/

Dartmouth

MIT
http://www.mitadmissions.org/topics/apply/standardized_test_requirements/index.shtml#requirements

I can’t find the superscore policy on the websites of Brown, Stanford, Cornell and Duke. Does anyone know?

So wait, most schools DO superscore? (like top 50 schools according to USNWR)

My S. is not applying to ivies, though its great to hear that they do too! He is applying to VILLANOVA, BU, BC, MIAMI, MICHIGAN,NORTHEASTERN, ETC…anyone know about those?

ctmomof3: your S is applying to similar unis as me! For BU, BC and Miami i think they superscore, my top 2 are michigan and USC. USC superscores too…(from what my frds told me) but michigan only takes the highest score from a single sitting. if you go to the FAQ part of the umich website and type in SAT as a keyword..they’ll say it. I guess the bigger the uni is (michigan had an undergraduate class of 6000 this year), the less time they have trying to superscore SAT scores since there are a lot of ppl applying and their acceptance rate is 47%, which is unusually high for a top uni. I think they just wanna see right away the highest SAT score you can accomplish in one sitting…so i think it depends on the size of the school as well.

I’m not so sure size makes a difference. UMD is large as well and they superscore.

lol… i actually listed colleges with typically 20000 applicants each that do superscore. if they let trivial administrative like difficulty in calculating superscores affect their admissions process, i don’t think it’s worth applying to.

Well then it’s really up to the college i guess. but i know for a fact Um doesn’t superscore
