do any college acceptances NOT come in a fat envelope?

MIT: Tube
Caltech: FedEx for merit scholarship awards (Fat for the EA)
Duke and Stanford: Thin envelopes for the Likely admits

:)

I always wondered on these UPS/FedEx schools,

What happens if you only submit a PO Box address? How would you get your acceptance?

Can we please not say the word fat. Some might find it very offensive, like my grandmother who is very large. Oversised would be a better word. Plus that word is smarter than fat because it has more letters.

THank You,
SmartDude08

My interviewer said Princeton's comes in a regular envelope.

We could always be hip and say "phat envelope."

I like "plus-sized" envelope.

mit's comes in a tube??

& i'd say don't throw at a letter just b/c it came in a small envelope. i heard a story about how a kid threw out his princeton b/c it was small & then several yrs later he found out he was actually accepted. =P

wow, that kid sounds.... intelligent.

Michigan's came in a large, folder-y type thing. I've since gotten a postcard and a letter as well. Sheesh! I feel bad for the treez....

University of Washington's is thin, yet it is a large envelope. And it says 'Congratulations' on the back, so that's a sure indicator of what's to come.

I don't know, it'd be sufficiently cruel to put "CONGRATULATIONS" on the envelope and then say on the letter, "CONGRATULATIONS, your application has been received."

My acceptance came in a smaller envelope than my rejection, haha.

or worse

"CONGRATULATIONS, The McDonald's Corporation is looking driven, hard-working candidates just like you!

We are too, just not you."

Would it include a prefilled out application to McDonalds to drive home the point?

I like that burger king is better than mcdonalds because mcdonalds is second teir because burger king has chicken fries and mcdonalds does not. also, the hamburgler is a better charachter that ronald mcdonald. this isbecause it is weird to see an old man like ronald be so friendly around kids. but a hamburgler is fine. i am sorry it is just the society we live in. this isnt the 80's anymore, we are in rough times.

What colleges/universities did everyone apply to?

Thank You,
SmartDude06

I almost died when I got a thin envelope from Georgetown...but then I opened it, and it had good news!

There's no way to know if the news is good or bad inside the thin envelope, so you just have to take a deep breath & read. On the other hand, thick envelopes, large manila envelopes, & fancy cardboard mailers are good news.

i got 1 sheet of paper from the university of louisville

UP comes in normal letter. 1 sheet of paper

Stanford's was thin, one page. Fat came later.
