Have you guys any experience in participating in book trading services? IF so, what did you think of theses services? If not, why were you reluctant to do so?

The company claims it can save you over 700 in book fees if someone rents your book. It seems like a good idea as you circulate your book within in your college. What experience do you have of this activity?

it's probably easier to just do it with kids on your campus....post a couple of fliers around with the course number and how much you're willing to sell for. Bonus points if you put them outside the classroom where they meet (next semester). If you want to buy books, try the same thing....there are almost always kids willing to sell, and for waaaay below the bookstore price. At CMU we have an online way of doing it, but it works anywhere....

Yeah, I agree with CMUgal. It's probably not worth it to participate in a book trading service. Your best chance for finding someone who needs your old textbook or who has a textbook that you need is to look at your own school. Most people are willing to sell their books, too, because college bookstores are known for buying back textbooks at a pittance of the price you paid for them (I got ten dollars for when I sold back my calc. book this semester and they're probably going to sell it for 35 or 40. The book only costs 50 brand new).
