Do AP scores reflect how well you will do in college courses?

I’m curious if higher AP scores mean that you will most likely handle college courses better than students with lower AP scores?

In general, better performance in AP courses indicate better college readiness. However, the pace of college courses is twice as fast as AP courses. A typical 3 credit hour course is completed in a semester in college versus over a year in high school.

Some students will outperform high school APs in college because they’ve matured and have better study habits or they have greater control over schedule and less busy work. Some students will underperform APs in college because they have difficulties adjusting to college life, being away from home and/or the pace of college work.
