Do applicants from Catholic schools have an advantage?

Does anyone know the statistics on this? How many students accepted by Villanova attended parochial school? A large percentage? Does it help? Thanks!

My impressions are YES…a significant number of students we’ve met thru our D attended a private, parochial HS…Our D did not,but I think that is the exception

Regarding"Do applicants from Catholic schools have an advantage?"

I don’t believe so. Villanova receives an enormous volume of applications from Parochial schools. They would give a boost to those applicants only if they thought that the student body was lacking in Catholic identity. There is no need to give preference to Parochial applicants because they admit and enroll many qualified Catholic school students.
The High school that Villanova receives the largest number of applicants annually is Chaminade High School (Mineola) with over 100 applicants last year and 15 young men enrolling.

I don’t see any published statistics on Public vs Privates for application , admits or enrollment but I believe this is a non factor in admissions.

It is important to note that on the Common Data Set,section C7: Religious
affiliation/commitment is Not Considered in admission decisions.
