Do A's or B's in APs matter for sophomore standing?

^

Right now, I'm under the impression that UCLA only cares about you passing the AP exam and getting the 5 units (a B in an AP Class) in order to give you sophomore standing. Do A's or B's in APs matter for sophomore standing, or rather do they consider GPA when dealing with standing?

^should answer all your questions. I’m not sure what you mean a “B” in AP class…all UCLA cares about is whether you passed the AP exam or not with at least a 3 (some credit requires getting a 4). what you got in high school does not matter to them.

hope that helps

Yes! Sophomore Standing! Does anyone know what percentage of the incoming freshman class have this (in the past)? Also, what type of standing are Regents Scholars given with their priority registration (junior or senior?)?

I would say at least 50% of incoming Freshman are classified as Sophomores. The way enrollment works for Regents scholars is that you can enroll in 13 units during your Priority Pass (which comes before a person with senior standing’s first pass). You are then still given a first pass based on your class standing, but you can only change your classes during this time, you cannot exceed the 13 unit cap. Finally, you get a second pass to take up to 19 units (21 if you’re in engineering) that is also based on your class standing.

damn it…
