What are the chances of a qualified applicant making it to HYPSM.
2250+, 3.8, couple of 780's, 5's on 4 or 5 AP tests, yeah you get the point.. not perfect but perfectly qualified stats
not a recruited athlete, but a varsity player
EC's aren't amazing, but nothing too shabby
ex: speech and debate, marching band, volunteer at hospital, various clubs, tutor, newspaper, quiz bowl... you get the point
no national awards like USAMO or ISEF, and no hooks
What are the chances of a well-rounded qualified applicant(but nothing spectacular) getting accepted to HYPSM.
Just curious.

From what I saw, I saw a guy with 1800 SAT got in to Stanford couple of years ago.

its very possible. just to let you know, that is not average persons scores and grades. lol. good luck!

If you are the last member of the Iroquois tribe you could get into anything lmao

Admit rates below 10% = you need to get lucky if you do not have hooks or major awards = reach schools

Well, their acceptance rates are all 5-7% as far as I know. You probably have like a 15% chance I would say.

As a recent admit to an HYPSM school, it’s very possible to get in and be average.

Happens way more than you think.

Just apply and see what happens! Good luck.

SpaceDuck: Don’t you have a hook?

High reach does not mean automatic rejection.
