Do BFA Actors @ Syracuse University get good exposure to professionals?

Hello everyone. I was accepted into the BFA Acting program at SU and am entering next month in August for Fall 2013! I'm very excited. I know SU has great opportunities such as studying abroad in London and performing at the Shakespeare Globe theatre, and also the Tepper Semester in NYC, but other than those two, do SU performers get good exposure to professionals in the business?

Apologies for posting this so many times, just wanted to get as much feedback as possible

I am a SU Drama Alum, and felt that with Syracuse Stage in the same building I had many wonderful opportunities for interaction with professionals in the entertainment industry. Most of the faculty are also active professionally, so this is a wonderful resource.

I graduated almost… cough, cough… 20 years ago … YIKES … and felt that way while I was an undergraduate student then. The relationship with Syracuse Stage and the professional networking opportunities for students have grown exponentially since then.

It is cold and grey in Syracuse, and the program is intense… it will not be for everyone… NO program will be… but, I would not be concerned about professional interactions and networking opportunities.

In the end, everyone has to guide and manage the course of their own career… no school, agent, or manager can do it all for you… but, Syracuse is a strong program, as are others. Put your work and energy in, be open, learn, grow, make friends, ask questions, etc… and you will do just fine.

:)

Thank you for such amazing and inspirational words KatMT. Greatly appreciated and very much looking forward to being completely immersed in learning the arts of acting.

Alenghavami, congratulations to you on your acceptance to Syracuse. Please do not post the exact same post on different threads!
