I'm going to be applying to a few Canadian schools(I'm American) like Mcgill, UofT and UBC. I did pretty poorly in my first two years but stepped up my performance in 11th grade with a 3.8. Anyway...... Do canadian schools only look at grade 11 and 12 for an international student?

McGill looks at grades 10, 11 and 12 and requires SAT/ACT scores for American applicants.

Check out the websites for each school.

If you are American, a lot of the schools look at more than Grades 11 and 12. As tomofboston suggested, look at their websites.

yes, and in fact many of them don’t even look at ur extra cirriculums.
thats said, u may need to submits certain essays

UBC does look at extracurriculars, though.

For Canadian students applying to Canadian schools, they only look at the top 6 marks from University-streamed courses. I don’t think that they’d look at your marks from your first years of high school - unlike American schools, Canadian schools do not ask for a cumulative GPA from all four years. The most importance is placed on your marks from grade 11 and 12. Honestly, I don’t think a few mediocre marks from early grades would be detrimental whatsoever.

^Agreed. For us Canada-bred students, they look only at the top 6 marks, including mandatory ones (that differ from program to program). You also have to choose your program/major as you apply, unlike in US.
