Hi, I am starting to use the Web Planner to plan out a schedule, and I am wondering if a class says it starts at say 9:50 AM, is that when the actual class starts or is that when people should start entering the room and class starts like 10 mins after?

I know some schools do that, so does UCSD?

Most classes start on time but some don’t. It’s 50 or 20 minutes past the hour that classes end and 30 minutes past or on the hour that they begin. I’m guessing you’re wondering if 10 minutes is usually enough time to make it to your next class and the simple answer is usually yes. Even if you’re a little late to most classes it’s fine.

Would 10 mins be enough even for going from a linguistics class to chemistry? And then chemistry to math?

it depends on where your linguistics, chem, and math classes are

I say it’s possibly to get from most lecture halls to other ones in under 10 minutes. Just keep walking and don’t stop to chat lol.

I had a chem and math class like that actually back to back my freshman year from PepperCanyon Hall to York Hall. Yes I was always a little late (2 mins or so if i DID stop to talk to ppl) on the way up there but I did well in both classes (A’s). On top of that, both of the classes had their midterms scheduled on the same days… the chances of that… the SAME 2 days for midterm 1/2 in both the classes. For those two days in the quarter, i actually borrowed my friend’s bike so I could make it to both of em on time.
