Do clubs matter?

Does being a member of clubs matter for college transfers/graduate applications? In other words, is it a positive factor or do most adcoms disregard it?

Also, are they considered extra curriculars?

actually being a member of clubs hurt your chance since they don't like college student partying too much :D

clubbing once awhile is ok

I guess it can't hurt

Graduate School... or Professional School?

not really. i can hit my irons pretty well with anything.

They're almost required for professional school, but I don't believe they're all that significant for grad schools unless you get some amazing experience because of a club.

at least you will have something to list under EC's.

gold, what about if you are transferring? Isn't it an indication that you were active on campus?

What program? What kind of clubs?

Usually grad schools don't give a crap about what you do in your free time, or so I'm told. They just care about research potential.
