I'm not sure if they do this personally to a few select high schools because they are genuinely interested in us or if they attempt at reaching as many schools so they can all apply and profit off application fees. Colleges like Dartmouth, Stanford, U Chicago, Vassar, Nyu have all visited and held discussion sessions with whoever wants to attend and describes their interest and the caliber of our high school. Has anyone else had this experience?

Many colleges have cut back on staff visits to save money.

I was disappointed at the range of colleges that came to visit to my son’s large urban high school. Then I looked at the list of colleges that visited at the large upper middle income suburban high school, and it wasn’t much better.

A number of prestigious colleges joined together for joint admissions sessions in my area.

ya man. colleges come to our school in bunches, boyz.

and i’m pretty sure it’s for the latter reason.

Yep.
My high school has all of those schools, and more, come. We had around 80 come and visit this year.
I’m pretty sure this is a common occurrence at most high schools, or at least it is in my area.

A lot of schools come and visit our HS too. But it happens around late Sept/early Oct.
