Do college credits from a state university usually transfer to another?

I'm currently planning on transferring from University of Oregon to Texas A&M University.

I'm concerned that not enough of my credits will transfer to meet the minimum credit requirement for admission.

I know you can't know which will and won't, but as a general rule of thumb, should most of my credits transfer over?

Also, I might as well ask this - what do you think my chances are of transferring into the Liberal Arts school (General Studies as secondary major) with a 3.46 GPA?

I currently have my A.A.S. fwith 64 credits rom a SUNY school and have attempted to transfer to the University of FL. It’s not an easy process, many of my credits have been denied, even with my GPA (I have a 4.0). Check Texas A & M university’s transfer page, they should post the minimum credits required for transfer. Your chances are better if you have a degree, but I’m also fairly certian your GPA is high enough to get in without a problem as Texas A&M is really looking for students. If you are transferring to the Liberal Arts school, I think you should have a good chance of getting in! Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the reply. I know that the minimum credit requirement for TAMU is 24 semester hours.

I currently have 45 quarter hours. I believe that if I convert them down, I will have about 30 semester hours. Therefore, I can afford to lose 6 semester hours in order to stay in the range.

I’m concerned I may lose more than that.
