I am asking this because I have all of a sudden become worried. On the wake forum here, everyone posting has gotten accepted, while one got waitlisted. Many people in areas like NY, CT, AL, etc.. have received letters of a decision, while I am here in Charleston, SC with nothing as of today, except my UNC housing packet came in. Someone said that maybe Wake mailed out acceptances and haven't sent out the rejections yet. Do colleges do this? Should I go ahead and give up hope and enroll in UNC-Chapel Hill? Or are the people who didn't get into Wake just not rushing to post the bad news on this site? I would be kind of surprised to get flat out rejected after getting into Georgia Tech, Vandy, UNC-Chapel Hill. I expected waitlist at the worst. Please, someone tell me that those of us who haven't received our decisions were all rejected. Wake is still my first choice.

My friend living in NC received his waitlist letter on Saturday...so it wasn't just acceptance letters that got sent out. It's ok.

Yeah, one guy posted that he got waitlisted. I am just concerned as to why everyone in areas much further away got their acceptances today, and I am still clueless. No one has posted that they got rejected. I see no reason why Wake would send out acceptances and waitlist and not send out rejection letters with them. I hope it's just the post office being slow, but my UNC housing envelope was sent Friday from ChapelHill and got here today.

Do you live in a rural area? I live in the middle of nowhere and EVERYTHING takes a really long time to get here.

I live on James Island in Charleston, SC. Our post office is known to be slow, but like I said, I got something from Chapel Hill that was postmarked March 23.

Some schools send out acceptances priority mail and send the waitlisted appilcant and those who did not get in regular mail. You might want to contact Wake Forest and ask which they do, or post on the Wake Forest site and ask them if their envelope came priority mail for acceptances. If it is sent priority mail then it could take 2-3 days depending on where you live. Other schools send out the acceptances regular mail and so it can take various lengths of time depending on where you live.

it's been 2 days since they supposedly sent them out. if i get nothing tomorrow, i'll expect the worst and get my tar heel blue out.

Seems like all the waitlisted and acceptances are arriving the same day. Someone across town from my HS got their acceptance letter today. My counsellor that worked for wake 2 years ago told me that they never sent them out at seperate times. maybe it's just my particular house.
