So I moved to the U.S. a little more than a year ago and jumped from 8th Grade to 9th Grade. I have an extensive list of extra curriculars that I did in Middle School. So will the college I submit my application to count this extra curriculars?
When you apply, you list your ECs based on how meaningful they are to you. You can write whatever you want. You can say your most meaningful EC was watching TV if you want to. But wisdom would say for you to list serious ECs you do while in HS. It’s all up to you and the impression you wish to leave.
Its cause i haven’t done many EC since moving to the U.S. and I was pretty passionate about the EC I did where I came from Well, thanks for the response.
Many students don’t really hit their stride Freshman year. By the time you apply to college, your ECs from “back home” will be ancient history. Applications should not wistfully recount your old glory days. Embrace your new US school and jump in with all your heart. If your old EC is not available here, recreate an Americanized version of it: start a club!
It is really important for you to start to do new things and find new passions in your US high school. Transplanting can be hard; personalizing it through active engagement can help.
