Do colleges care about referrals????

I need help… okay so I’m a senior and I think i’m about to get a referral. Last Monday i came to school late and just skipped the rest of first period (like 20 mins left) because I was having a panic attack in the bathroom (long story), and that thursday i skipped third period doing work for the same third period class i was skipping. My third period teacher (he’s an well known jerk but hey he’s still my teacher) informed me Friday morning that he wrote me up on a referral. I made an appointment with the dean but he never called me up. I don’t know if i’ll be able to get out of the referral and I’m just worried that this will effect my chances for college. I’ve already been accepted into the Florida Institute of Technology, University of North Florida, and Florida State University and i am waiting on University of Florida and University of Maryland to let me know in January. I’m a realtivley okay student, 3.4 unweighted and 3.9 weighted GPA, 1310 SAT, 29 ACT, and tons and tons of honor societies and volunteer positions… this was just a lapse in judgment I had a horrible and super stressful week and have been honestly worrying myself sick for the past three days i haven’t eaten anything because of my anxiety. I just want to know if colleges are going to be mad about a referral for skipping and if so should i call them to explain or would it be futile. Thank you.

Colleges are not going to care if you cut class in high school. As long as the police are not involved, you’re fine.

As for your anxiety, try to relax, and if you can’t, go to a counselor.

As long as you don’t make it a habit, I can’t imagine sleeping late one day would hurt you at all. And please take care of yourself – you already have choices for college so stop stressing.
