I've taken the NEW SAT, math IIC, and also Chem. Say I got good scores on all of these... I'm studying for physics sat II right now. Will they even see this score when i send it? Should I just stop studying for this test? thanks!

depends on the college i guess.. but since some say they dont REALLY need any at all, but SUGGEST it... (what!?).. i dont know..this is a good question

Unless you're going to a school that specifically requires 3 SAT IIs, then you better hope you'll get a good score on Physics. If you'll do terribly, then stop studying. You always want the good things in the app, and giving unnecessary bad extras won't help.

for those school that put down 2 as required...
will the still consider a third score, fourth score, etc..?
all the scores do show up on the transcript
i don't want to waste my time. i've done enough of that already.

Don't take Physics. The upper level colleges (I know Stanford for sure) want you to have SAT IIs in different fields! It might even be a requirement, but even 'preferred' at an elite is necessary. If you have to take a 3rd (like u do for Ivies) take something different! The colleges that require 3 tests are the colleges that also require that they be in different fields! So 2 science SAT II tests will not help you at all, even if you get 800s on both.

And no, they'll only consider your top 2/3.

so there's no way i can use that physics score to up my app?! what if i get an 800!? god this sucks, i'm half through studying for this! GOD FRIGGIN DANGIT.

If you think you'll do extraordinarily well, and you've already studied for it, might as well take it. Not all colleges ask for the scores in different fields, so it won't hurt the application. Subject tests are cheap, so go for it. You did all that work so get something out of it.

yeah. but if you are applying to UCs (and generally Ivies, though this is being discussed on other board), the distinction is clear that you must take different fields.

EDIT: besides, weren't you just saying you don't think you could get a good score on physics anyway?
