Do colleges care how many times i take the act

I understand that there is a saying that less act takes are better. I havr taken it five times but i feel like i have improved and can improve one last time. Disregarding yhe colleges that require all scores to be sent, does taking the act for a sixth time present a downside?( or can they really only see what i send them?) and will taking the act in september during senior year hurt my chances at early applications? Thanks

Some might feel you are being obsessed about the test. Most probably won’t care. I believe studies have shown your score won’t really change after taking it three times, so why do you think yours will?

Well my science score went up 5 points my last time and i feel like my other subjects can go up(i just need to work on reading)

For colleges where you have to send all of your scores, taking it six times will almost definitely hurt you- like Erin’s Dad said, it makes you look like you are obsessed with the test. However, for schools that don’t make you send all the scores, and if you really think you can improve, then I say why not

No, they don’t care at all. I’ve known students who have taken the SAT 4+ times and have wound up at just about every top-20 college.

An important thing to note with the ACT is that you can permanently delete some of your test sittings as well.

Ok thabks i think ill retake it one last time. Another thing, does thw writing score matter if i do well on the ap english essay?

Not at most colleges.
