Do colleges check if your app was not falsified?

<p>I called the UC application center today and asked them if I needed to let them know that I would NOT be playing the sport that I said I would be on my application. </p>

<p>She said no, it didn't really matter. </p>

<p>Now what does that tell you about how much they care about ECs and want to verify them?</p>

<p>If you were being recruited for the sport, and given extra consideration for the fact that you played the sport, are willing to play for college and good enough to help the team, it would be an issue in admissions.</p>
