do colleges verify submitted mid semester grades for transfers by calling the college?

Not likely. Too many to do, too little time.

Sometimes, if it might tip the scales either way.

hopefully they do- its not fair how some ppl cheat

I am thinking if they report false grades, once they're actually admitted and send in their official transcript it will be rescinded unless theres a good reason...

I don't know if it's the case for every school, but for the school I am applying to, the application includes a mid-semester grade report and requires the signature of the professors for the different classes.

but one could still forge the signature

you could, but it also asks for name and extension. You be Fed if they tried to call.

for my mid term reports, my professors didnt even take them seriously. they didnt check into the grade system for my grade, instead they just asked me what i got and signed the paper.
how important is the mid term report in the view for the college im applying to?

Not very important. I've heard colleges really only consult this document if you're on the borderline.

"you could, but it also asks for name and extension. You be Fed if they tried to call."

If you are really needing to forge grades, you're Fed if you don't. P.s. don't think many cheat and get away with it when transcripts arrive, lol.
