Do colleges count high school courses taken in middle school?

Do colleges count high school courses taken in middle school?
And do such courses affect GPA and Class Rank?

High school courses taken in middle school should appear on your transcript (to be sure ask a counselor or request an unofficial copy of your transcript to check for yourself). At least at my HS, such courses didn't affect GPA or rank (once again, you should ask your counselor as it can vary by school district).

it on ur transcript. it counts

It depends on your high school. Some schools may carry the course over onto your high school transcript and include the grade in your GPA. Others may carry the course on your transcript, but not include the grade in the GPA. Still others may not list the course at all. Check with your guidance counselor.

they should.

would the colleges recalculate and ignore them?

Well, the college would at least see that you took the course. At my son's HS, they kept forgetting to include his before-ninth-grade summer school class in his GPA calc, and they had to re-run it through the computer about four times. I kept on top of them since he got an A+ in the class.

Find out your specific HS's policy, and then make sure they follow it.

My son took Spanish I, Algebra and Geometry in middle school. None of these courses appear on his transcript, but it's pretty obvious he took them since he took the next courses in the sequence in high school.

I took a 9th Grade Honors World History, 9th Grade Honors English, 9th Grade Honors Math, 9th Grade Honors French, and 9th Grade Honors Earth Science, all during 8th grade. By my district's policy, these classes were for high school credit, show up on my high school transcript, and count towards GPA/rank.
The classes were taught by the department chairs, we took the actual finals that the high-schoolers took (we were forced to take them the same day the high-schoolers did, so we took them on different days than the regular middle-school finals were), and for Earth Science we had to take the NYS Regents at the end of the year, just as you would if you took the course in the high school.
The benefit of doing this is that I have more opportunities to take higher level courses during my junior/senior years.
BUT what I don't think colleges take into account is the fact that you are taking courses at a higher grade level than your peers. For examply I took English 10H in 9th grade whereas my friends took it in 10th grade, but they'd probably seen exactly the same way by colleges.

I took Honors Algebra 1, Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra 2, IPC, Spanish 1, Health, and PE during middle school and they all are on my transcript, all count for GPA (dangit) and count for hs credit.
Algebra 1 at 10 years old? not a good idea unless you are a math genius (definately not me). I try to dissuade parents from putting their kids in Algebra 1 in 6th grade at this middle school

I took Spanish 1, Spanish 2, and Algebra 1 Honors in middle school, and all of them appear on my transcript (which is bad for me because I didn't really care in middle school and made C's and B's).

My d's school is similar to ricegal's - Algebra I and French I taken in middle school don't appear on the transcript, but since she took French II and Algebra II in high school, it was obvious that she took them.

Some schools they appear on your transcript.
