do colleges email me what they want if they find some part of the application that needs to be clarified?
or do they just reject directly cuz you don't have a particular document or w/e.
im asking because ... its complicated, so I think some colleges might want some kind of extra document from me.

Unless something has changed, the schools leave the responsibility of making sure everything is in up to you. Some schools will keep your app status updated on their portals, so you can log in and see if your app is listed as complete. But don’t wait for them to tell you you are missing something.

Check the online portals at each school to make sure everything is in. ALSO check your email frequently!

Colleges are supposed to evaluate you completely.

But you can imagine a situation where someone with a 2.9GPA and 20 ACT applies to Yale – but let’s say one of the two teacher recs never gets sent it. Might that applicant never be contacted to say “get that missing rec letter in because we’re getting close to the decision deadline”? I can certainly imagine so because even the most outstanding submitted rec letter won’t make any difference.

In other scenarios, colleges will send continuing rounds of requests to either the student and/or the schools for missing vitals.

Remember, they are looking for a reason to admit you believe it or not.
