Do colleges keep our recommendations?

<p>This is my first post on CC. Nice to meet you all!</p>

<p>I'm wondering whether universities keep our recommendations and other documents? Do they look at them if I reapply, either as a transfer student or as a post-gap-year(apologize for making up a word) high school graduate? Do they even keep the records for graduate school admission?</p>

<p>I don’t think they will keep the recs for graduate school applicants. Where are they going to keep the paper mountain? Having said that I have no idea about the behind-the-scenes process whatsoever and that’s just my logical guess.</p>
