Do colleges keep SAT scores?

Hi guys! i am sorry if my question mislead some of you. This is the problem.

I took my SAT in Oct 2008 and I requested my scores to be sent to 4 universities of my choice. However, I did not apply to these school in year 2008 for Fall 2009 session. Instead, I am applying to these 4 universities one year later which is 2009 for Fall 2010 session.

My question to you guys is, do I have to pay and resubmit my SAT scores from collegeboard again to the 4 schools? Or the schools will have my SAT record in Oct 2008?

Hope to hear from you guys soon! Thanks!

When colleges receive anything that relates to an application they set up an admission file and anything else that comes in gets matched with it. The issue you face is how long that initial file is kept and each college may differ, though it is often about a year. Safety would dictate to resend scores but you could call each college and just determine the issue.

Hi Drusba! Thanks for the input! Does collegeboard actually send the scores to college immediately when requested?

Just call the schools and ask if they have your scores before you pay to send them again (yes you would have to pay again). Also, they usually they have some way of displaying if/when they received your SAT/ACT, transcripts, etc. online.

U r right Dnerd. I realize that I did not set up any application with these colleges. I guess the scores may have been flushed away. I will submit my applications first, then ask them if they do keep my scores. Thanks guys!

anybody has similar experience? bumps~

I took the SAT 3 times and sent my scores each time. The first two times were before the existence of score choice, and I scored much better the third time than either of th first two. I am now applying to some of the colleges that I sent my first two sets of scores to, which all accept score choice. I am wondering if they will still have my inferior scores from my past tests when they review my application. I hope not.

Hi there! I think it is best to check with the school. Don let the score turn u upside down. bumps for more inputs!
