Do colleges like instruments?

<p>I'm a freshman and I quit my instrument, mostly because I suck at it due to a lack of private lessons. My school's music program is one of the best in the state. There are three levels of orchestra, and the upper two don't require private lessons, but without them it's almost impossible to get in them.</p>

<p>So my main question is, are colleges more likely to accept you if you are in a symphony level(highest) music class? How do they view it? Do they view it like an extracurricular activity? I just want to know what colleges think about music classes in general, levelwise and stuff.</p>

<p>It’s just an extracurricular activity like any other. If you’ve put a lot of work into some other EC, that will be fine.</p>
