Do colleges look at dual-enrollment transcript as part of transfer GPA?

When I was in high school, I took a load of dual-enrollment classes, and I earned 44 college credits through that. I had a 3.89 GPA at the community college. High school GPA was a 3.89 unweighted, and weighted it was a 5.2-5.3 (9 AP classes and an A in all of them, only B’s in Alg 2 Trig and Gym).
In high school, I applied as a freshman applicant to schools, and was accepted as one - not as a transfer, even though I had so many credits. Since I’m at a public university in my state, they took all of those credits, but they didn’t weigh in my GPA at this school. Now, I’m looking to transfer to another school. Will they look at my community college GPA with the one I have since coming to college?

A little more background: I also have 4 withdrawals. I’m in my second year of college, and I’m a second semester sophomore credits-wise. However, I had some health problems last year. I started full time first semester, but I had to withdraw to part time because of health problems. Second semester, I was part time but ended up doing a medical withdrawal and going home.
So, I’m applying to transfer. My community college GPA will help my transfer application a lot if they look at it, since it’s before the time of all my health problems, and is much higher (I have a 3.3 from my two classes last year, would have had A’s but the absences messed it up). This semester will also be a lot better than my first semester last year, as I’m full time, and have better grades because I haven’t had to miss so much class. Will colleges I’m applying to transfer to look at the community college GPA as well as the one from the school I’m at now? If yes, will they be calculated together to get an overall “college GPA?”

Yes, when you apply to transfer, all college courses and grades, including those taken while in high school, will be considered, although more recent and advanced courses and grades are likely seen as more important if the school looks holistically. Whether they will be accepted for transfer credit depends on the school you transfer to.

@ucbalumnus Great, thanks. When I’m trying to ~chance~ myself, should I assume that the dual-enrollment GPA is part of my “College GPA?”

It may depend on the college you apply to. For moderately selective ones, it is more likely that they will just plug your grades into a formula to get a GPA to rank you with other applicants (although they may exclude courses that they consider to be too low level). For highly selective ones, it is likely that all grades will be considered in holistic review, but the more recent ones and more advanced courses (particularly in your intended major) will be considered more heavily.
