<p>The title pretty much sums it up.. I am worried that since colleges look at your cumulative GPA, which includes freshman year, it will greatly affect my chances to get in to the college I want to get in (since my freshman year grades weren't exactly the greatest..). So, what exactly happens when colleges evaluate your grades? </p>
<p>Do a thread search. This topic comes up a lot. Most schools will place less emphasis on it than more recent grades (hence the benefits of an upward trend).</p>
<p>Princeton does not look at freshman grades at all.</p>
<p>Some universities do, I don't see why they wouldn't. If a student does horrible freshmen year, you think they wouldn't consider it? I don't see why they wouldn't.</p>
