Do colleges look at Spring semester grades for a Transfer?

Hey guys, so currently I'm planning to transfer into another college for the Fall 2009 semester, and I am currently a freshman.

Right now I am taking classes that relate to the major I will be trying to transfer into and am getting great grades in all of them, that is for the first semester so far.

For the second semester, I am planning on keeping my major but not taking any classes related to it, and just deciding on taking the required classes needed for me to transfer, and a class of my interest (Psychology), which is nowhere near related to the major I am transferring into.

*So my question is: Will this affect their decision they make on my application? Basically my first transcript is nice and fit, but my second one has no classes related to my field of interest I am applying for, but then again they only see the first one before they make a decision? * Or will they already have made a decision before they even see my second semester transcript? The "MID-YEAR REPORT" needs to be sent in, so they can easily see my classes from there too..

Please help! Thanks!

a. there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking basic core classes your freshman year...youre a freshman for gods sake, you dont have to be worrying about your major yet

b. on your transfer application you are required to list all the classes you are currently enrolled in...so if you are applying next semester to matriculate in the fall, you will have to list those classes regardless
