Hi, I took 5 summer school courses for “enrichment” that I got a grade for (community college) and it is in my community college transcript. However, it is in no way entered into my high school transcript as my counselor will not submit those grades. These grades I received from the summer courses are huge GPA boosters for me and I really need it for consideration to the ivy leagues (4.1gpa with summer courses, only 3.8 without) (Yes I’ve done the calculations correctly). My unweighted GPA is also slightly better. In the common app (where I am applying to all my colleges) there is a section to report all your coursework, however, most of the ivy leagues do not accept the self-reported coursework. Therefore, there is almost no way for those colleges to know I took any summer courses via dual enrollment. I listed my GPA as 4.1 (it was optional to list it) so will they question the GPA and ask if I took any summer courses? Will they take this into consideration into my application? The rest of my application is fairly strong, just not my GPA without summer courses.
Do colleges look at summer school courses that you took for "enrichment?"(got a grade in transcript)
Yes they will see your grades because you are required to submit all of your college transcripts, not just your high school transcript.
Colleges that want to see your transcripts for frosh admission want to see all transcripts of high school and college work done while in high school.
How would I submit my college transcripts through common app? There is no way for me to submit them? Will they ask for my transcripts before the decision date?
Check the college web sites to see how they want transcripts to be sent (including mailing address if paper transcripts are sent).
A 3.8 UW GPA is good enough for the ivy league schools. They consider your application holistically. You still need to submit the college transcript, though.
