Do they? I always notice people in chance me threads saying they got 5's in most of the ones they took but i wasnt sure if colleges would actually see that

Yes,they do.

No they don’t. @DiamondblazeXD is wrong. You can self report your scores on your application, but colleges won’t actually see the official score report until after you enroll in your college.

@anonemuss yessssss thank god. i had a feeling they didnt-- i always heard people say stuff like “nah man you wont get in cause you dont have straight 4’s and 5’s on those ap tests” lol

Schools will look over your course rigor and they look to see if you have taken the AP exams associated with the classes (many students use AP classes for GPA padding), but they will not reject you if you only have 3’s on your test results. Once the final AP scores are sent to the schools, they will use them to determine how many credits you will receive toward your major, elective and pre-req classes. Some schools will only give you credits and some schools will allow to skip some intro classes. It really depends on each type of school.

Lol it depends on the college. Some say that they look at AP scores and others say that they don’t. However, AP scores aren’t nearly as important as the grade earned in the AP class.

@ribbonroad224 I don’t believe there is a school that require official AP scores. All schools will look at your score, if you self report it, but you can’t send in official reports.

@Woandering I never said that applicants would have to send in official AP score reports.

thank you all

@ribbonroad224 There is no “some colleges say they look at AP scores and others say they don’t”. If a college says they look at AP scores, that implies you having to send in official scores, as with the SAT or ACT. All colleges will see self reported scores, and I’ve never heard of a college that officially wants you to self report them.

“AP and SAT Subject scores are optional for W&M but we will review them if submitted. We are happy to accept self-reported or official scores for these kinds of optional exams.”

W&M Admissions commented this on my thread asking if admissions looked at AP score reports.
So yes, there are some colleges that look at self-reported AP scores.

@Woandering " I don’t believe there is a school that require official AP scores." false, there are schools that want you to send official reports for them to look at them. Example: George Mason University

Okay, I stand corrected. Just gotta check every university you apply to then.
