Do colleges look at your top 3?

Do colleges look at your top 3 SAT 2 scores/scores that you send to them ??? or do they look at ALL the scores of the tests that you have taken???

Like for example, if i took World history-640, Math 2-800, Chem-800, bio-800, and if I only send them math2, chem, and bio, will they even look at or consider my world history score??

How will they not see your World History score? Wouldn't it be on the SAT printout, or with that new rule College Board is instituting are you allowed to pick and choose your best three scores to be shown?

I believe that only your top three scores will be examined. If someone can confirm this, that'd be great.

you can pick and choose what scores to send colleges?

Yes--they will ONLY look at your top three scores. I asked them myself at top schools.

90star09, how did you get to ask them??

anyways, I really do hope that is the case, because I just bombed one of my SAT 2s... and I thought I did well on it.

"you can pick and choose what scores to send colleges?"
^Beginning next March, College Board will allow you to select your best score from a single sitting of the SAT I, and your other attempts will not show.

Students to select SAT scores - News

they will ignore the other scores.

^ yes, but is that only for SAT 1?

I'm at Harvard summer program...so i asked. They do that for SAT Is too

Really, they're going to do that for the SAT II's as well? SWEET!

^^ I just called CB and they said that it is only effective for tests that you take AFTER march 2009.... which is NOT cool.

BUT, I don't think this woman knew what she was talking about.

on the website, it says:
"Students who complete a test prior to the launch of the new score-reporting feature will be able to take advantage of this option when sending past or future scores."

this means that students will be able to take advantage of this option with PAST scores... so shouldnt that mean that I can "cancel" or not send my June sat score??

what if you don't want them to ignore your other tests?

then you leave it as it is...

This new rule is not effective for class of '09. It comes into effect for '10 and afterward.

AH! darn, that could have come in handy!

powerbomb:

on the website, it says:
"Students who complete a test prior to the launch of the new score-reporting feature will be able to take advantage of this option when sending past or future scores."

stockguru92: Doesn't that mean it's also effective for class of '09 as well?

kMz: not effective for class of '09.

How about for colleges that only require 2 SAT IIs?
