Do colleges only accept one passing AP English score for credit?

For example, I got a 2 in AP English Language this year but if I get a 3+ in AP English Literature next year will I still get the same credit as the Language test?

I ask this so I won't have to take English intro classes in college.

I realize that some colleges only accept 4s or 5s, but I mean in general.

Thanks!

** Sorry if this is in the wrong thead!

Some colleges give the same credit for AP Lang and Lit but some do it completely differently, I would check whatever school you’re interested in. At my state flagship a 4+ in Lang gives placement out of the first half of English composition and a 5 in Lit gives credit for an unrelated literature study class.

OK, thanks for answering!

Just one more-

Most colleges don’t actually ask to see one’s AP test grades to affect admissions, right?

Colleges that I know don’t require you to send your AP scores for admission, only placement.
