Do Colleges Prefer SAT Over ACT?

My son got a 35 ACT score ( 36 if superscored) & a 2240 SAT. Do you guys think we should submit both? According to the SAT-ACT conversion chart, a 35 ACT looks better than a 2240 SAT. He is planning to apply for Duke ED. Any suggestions?

what are his SAT IIs, and he missed the ED interview deadline already, which really helps the adcom know the applicant

His SAT IIs are Math 800, Chem. 780, Physc.760. His ranking is 2% (No.4 out of 297 in a public school)
He made the late decision applying Duke. That is why he didn’t make to the Oct. 16 deadline. Well, the information seminar we went stated only 40% applicants get interviewed. Mostly the interview is for publicity purpose…

Yet the acceptance rate is under 30% and the interview isn’t just for publicity or they wouldn’t do it, they score you on it and if you get a 4 or 5 /5 it really helps according to Duke Alumni. Just saying. He has good scores though, but there is a lot more to the application than that.

Thanks for all your inputs. My son is kind of layback & alway does things the last minute. At this point, we won’t get any interview chance. He needs to work hard on the essay and see what happens.
