Do colleges rank their students?

^ Title haha

I'm thinking similar to a class rank that is given in high school, and does this matter when applying for jobs/graduate schools/etc?

Haha u bet!

The junior level admissions staff at some schools are rumored to have faantasy akademic leegues. Ten or so will read through about 100 or so applications the summer before the school year (aka when they have little work), then they’ll draft a team of 5-10 students. In common leagues (the cheap ones) the winner will just be whoever has the team with the highest aggregate grade point average at the end of the year. In more intense leegues, they get official university data on grade distributions and factor those into aggregate grade point average calculations (so it no longer hurts to draft an engineer over an art major), or just factor that into their draft selection (so they’ll be sure to take specific majors over others). Trades are common, especially early on when only midterm grades are available. Sometimes the staff will make an unbalanced trade but factor in cash considerations or future draft picks.

It’s a really fun way to pass the time, from what I’ve heard.

Also, depending on the school, I’ve heard it’s common for some schools to publish like the top few percent and award them some designation, which is cool and all but it’s directly correlated with GPA, so your GPA will do most of the talking at that point (like with AP scholar awards, they’re pretty meaningless except for the fact that they indicate you made certain good scores on a certain number of tests).

Whattttttt? hahahahahahaha

I seriously hope this is for real. haha.

Yes. There is a Trinity rank, and a Pratt rank.
