Hi. Okay so I’m submitting my application to Vanderbilt soon to meet the RD deadline and I’m just wondering if they’ll actually take the time to read my essay and supplement despite my lower GPA and scores. Ladies and gentleman, we’re talking a 1440 SUPERSCORED SAT and a 4.479 WEIGHTED GPA. Yeah, I know the odds are not in my favor. At all. And I obviously consider Vandy to be a reach school. But shooters have gotta shoot… Btw I’m not actually as much of an idiot as I probably sound right now, I just don’t feel like being sophisticated at the moment
Many schools have a policy of having one or two readers do every application and make the first cuts after those readings. If the application is passed by those two, then the next step might be a small committee or at least another reader.
Other schools have statistical cut offs that include or exclude applicants. I’m sure with your stats you are not any automatic reject.
