Do colleges REALLY take the highest score?

I have taken the new SAT in March and in June.
In March I had:
CR: 680
M: 760
W:690
Comp: 2130

In June:
CR: 730
M: 710
W:800
Comp: 2240

I thought I had a legitimate shot at an 800 for Math in June but I must have messed up some easy ones. Since I'll be applying to architecture schools, the Math section is the most closely correlated section to my major (not that any section is really correlated to any major, unless you major in test-taking). Anyway, I'm a little disapointed in that Math score, but I'm wondering, will schools just look at the best section from each test? Obviously, they will be able to see all of my scores, but will they take the lower scores into account at all, or base their decisions solely on the best scores? (giving me a 2290, which I would be pretty happy with)

most colleges look at the top score for each section

Mathwiz is correct. But remember, in the end, they see all the scores!

yeh but they don't care if you screwed up once...that's just kids' paranoia.
