Do colleges see ACT subsection scores?

Hi, I’m a senior ('16er) and I have a 35.25 ACT score. I was just wondering if colleges like the Ivies and other high tier colleges see my score breakdown (36E, 35 everything else) or just the combined 35. Or would my 35.25 be in essence equal to a 34.5, since they both average out to 35? I know they don’t superscore the ACT but I was just wondering if they saw the subscores.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, they will see your subscores. Moreover some schools will only use the scores of the subsections that they care about. I know this because I called about 5-6 of the schools that my son was interested in after he took the ACT.

@CalBearsMom Thanks for your response! I was reading about it and I was getting mixed answers so you cleared my question right up. Thank you once again!

You may be surprised by all the information ACT provides to a college. Go here to see a sample ACT report to colleges: http://www.act.org/aap/infosys/report/
