I am a junior this year, and I am planning taking 3 SAT IIs in total.
In November I took the French with Listening Subject Test and got a 640, which is not at all impressive. However, I have had all As in my high school years of French, including this year taking AP French.

I am planning on taking the Literature and Math II subject tests in June and hopefully I will do well on them. My question is, am I required to send the scores from all 3 subject tests, even though I did not do well on the French? Also, how much do these scores impact a college's acceptance decision? I have obviously done well in French (and hopefully on the AP exam), so how will colleges see my 640?

College Board allows students to select which individual SAT II scores you send to which schools. Even SAT IIs you take on the same date can be sent separately. As to what’s “required” that’s up to the individual college to which you are applying. Check those requirements, college by college. If a college wants 2 scores, send them your highest 2. If they want 3, then you send them 3. If they don’t require any SAT IIs, you can still send your best scores if you want.

You have to check the colleges’ rules because some require you to provide all scores including SAT II scores, examples: of the ivies Yale, Penn, Cornell, and Columbia require them all. If the college does not require them all, you can choose to have College Board exclude scores when sending official scores to colleges. However, you then also have to check your high school’s practices, because many put all your scores on your official high school transcript they send to colleges when you apply for admission.
