I've asked a couple of people and no one is clear on that.

Are the scores visible in any way--like are your junior year AP test scores on your highschool transcripts--when you apply for admission?

For most high schools, they are not on transcripts. For the most part, the only way colleges know AP scores is by you self-reporting them on your applications. Note, they do not play a strong role in the admissions process anyways, though good scores can’t hurt.

They could be on your transcript, depending on your high school, or you can choose to self-report them on your app and/or resume. Also, you can officially send them to colleges to strengthen your app, but that costs about $15 per college.

when you register with college board, they have your SS. so I guess they can see them all. You can’t selectively report only the scores you want to report

Probably not on your transcript, but there’s a section on the commonapp that lets you report your own scores. Other college applications might ask you to self-report, too.

I’m pretty sure that’s not the case. SAT/Subject Test/ACT scores must be sent through official score reports. AP scores are self-reported. A free official report can be sent to the school you know you’ll be attending when you take the AP exams in May of your senior year. But when you apply, you self-report AP scores.
