Do colleges see attendance?

I just checked out from school.. I feel like I am going to die now..

My concern is that if my poor attendance will hurt my chances when applying to ivies/mit..

I had total of 19 excuses absent last year because of surgery..

Can anyone share an insight?

I am very worried. Why am I so weak

You’re over reacting. Colleges don’t care about attendance – they care about your classes and your grades.

No, nor do they care unless there was some sort of disciplinary action such as an IS suspension.

Do you guys think one absent hurt my teachers’ recommendations? LOL

So, poor attendance does not matter if it doesnr lead to discipline actions?

Answer to the first question: no. I had a teacher write a recommendation of a class I did really well in. However, I was also consistently late to that class, which we joked about. Had no affect whatsoever.

Answer to second question: correct. Otherwise they don’t even see or care about things such as attendance. If they are excused absences for something like surgery, that is something completely out of your control anyway, it’s not like you’re skipping classes.

Don’t worry about it.

I repeat: You’re overreacting. Few transcripts even INCLUDE attendance information. And colleges DON’T CARE. Got it? So cut the dramatics “I’m going to die” “I’m so weak”.

A certain number of absences at our HS meant you didn’t get credit for course - that’s the only way it could hurt you.

@shawnspencer‌ thx dude. Where did you get into? I see you a lot on cc.

@T26E4‌ I meant I am so sick that I felt like I am going to die now. Thx dude.

@scmom12 thx mom.‌

By the way, do you guys think a easy science I took during sophomore year hurt my chances? I am covering that by taking ap physics , ap bio, and ap chem.

Well the school I am going to is William and Mary. The rest is history.

An increasing rigor in your courseload will only be a plus. Seriously, no need to stress that much

It may matter if that affect how your GC writes your recommendation, but you have a perfect excuse for it. So you should not worry about it at all.
