for those of you who self study lots of APs, do you know whether colleges have any way of recognizing this?
for instance, i was in an IB biology class this year in which we learned absolutely nothing; everybody fails the IB SL exam, and fewer still venture to take the AP, so it's basically self study all the way.
Is this apparent to colleges, or should you send a note explaining the circumstances in which your score was earned, or would this be percieved as presumptuous and unnecessary?
And as for the exams you take without even a class in that subject on your transcript, do they see that?
just curious.

bump.......

They recive an AP score report which shows all of your AP scores, and they get your transcript obviously. That's all I know for sure.

They won't have any way to see class averages, that'd be way too complicated. I'd also believe that sending a note or something similar would do more harm than good.
