Do colleges strive to have one student from everywhere?

Hello,

I am an international applicant from Bulgaria and am counting on my nationality to play a small role in the admissions process at the colleges I've applied to. However, on one of the colleges' brochure for int. students, it is stated under countries represented at the college that there is someone already there from Bulgaria. So, my question is, will still my foreign nationality play a positive role in the application or would the college not care since they already have a student from Bulgaria? :)

More significant is your competition the year you’ll be applying. Schools don’t set a specific number of students from each country or region, preferring a general diversity, and students that meet their specific needs (academically, geographically and economically) for each year’s class. In other words: having another Bulgarian may, or may not, make any difference. Apply anyway.
