do colleges verify your ec's??

im sure this question has been asked 500 million times, but do colleges actually verify that you've done everything you say? not that anyone i know would lie, but i mean, come on, doesn't it seem a little too easy to just pretend you were a part of a million clubs and projects?

i am honestly really worried that colleges will think i made up some of the stuff on my resume, because most of it does not have any valid proof....for example, i wrote that i founded a small company and the name of it, but it's literally impossible to find online...do you think colleges will look for it and not believe me when they can't find it?

They don’t verify. They rely on your integrity. Basically, if it’s small enough to lie and not get caught – they’re generally useless in terms of making a difference (100 comm service hours versus 1000 hours or treasurer versus founder of the high school Anime club – who cares?)

Ones that are significant (Siemens, state track record holder) enough to catch a reader’s attention – will be easily verified and probably re-stated by others in your file.
